Better is Peace
On May 22, we present a major collaboration, Better is Peace, at the Carleton Dominion-Chalmers Centre with Nepean Choir, Nepean High School Choir, and The Ottawa Symphony Orchestra. Bass Matthew Li and mezzo-soprano Gabrielle Comeau-Gort will join us once again.
The program features:
The Listeners by Pulitzer Prize–winning composer Caroline Shaw, inspired by Carl Sagan’s “Golden Record” sent into space on the NASA Voyager probes.
The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace by Welsh composer Karl Jenkins, a moving work commissioned to mark the new millennium, reflecting on past wars and expressing hope for peace.
Omaa Biindig by Andrew Balfour, part of the JUNO-nominated NAGAMO project blending Indigenous spirituality with Western choral traditions.
We can’t wait to share this performance with you!
